Spiritual Counseling

Spiritual counseling is a positive, motivational process designed to help you get the highest quality out of living your life. It is not therapy.

We are all on a journey. This journey affects all our relationships, our well-being and our sense of self. You may just be beginning your awareness of a higher spiritual purpose, or your life events are changing so rapidly that you have many unanswered questions.

Whatever your personal walk at this time, through our conversations you can gain clarity about where you are on your life journey and about what your experiences are teaching you. Through or time together you can explore how to deepen your personal relationship with the Divine, strengthening you to face both the joys and challenges of life with serenity and maturity.

Spiritual Counseling is very much about being "invited" to draw closer to the Divine. You are invited into this relationship whether you attend a church, mosque, synagogue, temple, or none of these. The Divine seeks you where you are. Clearly, Interfaith spiritual counseling is not psycho-therapeutic counseling, although that kind of professional help can sometimes be a very important adjunct.

I conduct beautiful and meaningful ceremonies that speak of the special and unique in each of us as individuals. In your ceremony, we will celebrate universal meanings. The Divine in each of us is universal where boundaries are not known. Following the ceremony, I handle the details of filing your Marriage License.

This ceremony announces the arrival of your child as part of your family and extended family. It is a celebration of the family that will nurture this child. In this service, parents and godparents commit themselves to the rearing of the child.

Bereavement

Our world is turned upside down by the death of a loved one, the loss of a relationship or job, and we lose our center. We are no longer sure what life is all about. We feel as though we have lost our joy and security. We can fall into the very pit of despair and longing.

Yet, in some sense loss can be seen as a gift. Not a gift we asked for, but a gift nonetheless. We can chose to stay in the pain and bitterness, or we can learn how to use this "unasked for gift" to grow. There is one solid fact that is true for everyone: we must not walk around the perimeter of loss. instead, we must go through the center of grief's very core, in order to continue life in meaningful way.

There is one way to live with out any grief in our lives, and that is to exist without love. There is no timetable or schedule for recovery. Grief is not a stable thing; it is a process. When we are able to see these losses differently, we might see them as seeds of a new beginning, of new life, of a deeper experience of love and fulfillment the we might never have ever imagined possible. We might discover the extraordinary that we never dared imaged inside us. We soon discover JOY again.
